Sports Sampler for Kids: Sports Sampler class for kids introduces a wide variety of sports, from gymnastics to soccer. Build your child's strength and confidence. Fun music and games throughout the session! Classes are held on Wednesday from 4:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for ages 4 to 8 and from 5:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. for ages 9 to 12 . Step Into Shape: Step into Shape is a low impact exercise class for the 50 plus crowd. Classes are on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 9am to 10:30am. Please call (734) 782-1702 for more information (they take a break during the summer months).

Zumba Fitness is being offered on Tuesday nights starting at 6:00 p.m.

Total Body Conditioning is being offered on Wednesday nights at 6:00 p.m.

Karate for Kids: B & A Defense Karate for youths 6 years of age and under are held on Monday's starting at 5:30 PM. For more information, please call (734) 306-6670. Classes are scheduled year around.

Tang So Do Karate is also offered for persons 7 years and older. Classes are held on Monday and Thursday's from 6:30 to 7:30 PM. For more information, please call (734) 671-1466.

Family Swim: The Gibraltar Parks and Recreation will be sponsoring family swim hours at the Carlson High School pool on Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The cost is $1.00 per person. For more information, please call (734) 671-1466. The family swim program is subject to cancellation if the school has an event scheduled.

AA Group: Babbling Brooks AA Group meets at the Community Center on Friday and Sunday mornings from 10:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.

 

Gibraltar Baseball Association: The Gibraltar Baseball Association is looking for boys and girls between the ages of 8 years old to 12 years old who are interested in playing baseball this spring. Sign up dates are on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, February 20, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Community Center. Please bring a birth certificate or proof of age. Registration fee is $30.00 per child and $15.00 for each additional child from the same family. For more information, please call (734) 671-1466.

Gibraltar Baseball and Softball Travel Teams: The Gibraltar Baseball and Softball Travel Teams are looking for boys who are 13 to 18 years of age, and girls who are 9 to 17 years of age, to play on the travel teams. Sign up dates are every Saturday in March 2010, as well as Saturday April 3, 2010 , from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Community Center. This sign up period will determine whether there are enough players for teams in each division. Applications are available at the Gibraltar Community Center only. Tee Ball Program: The Gibraltar Parks & Recreation Tee Ball Program is for children ages 3 to 7. The program will be held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Gibraltar Community Center field. The registration fee is $15.00 per child, which includes a shirt, cap, and trophy. The season will run from Tuesday, June 23, 2009 through July 23, 2009. Teen Center : The Teen Center, located in the basement of City Hall, is open Friday and Saturday nights from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. It is open only to Gibraltar youths between the ages of 12 and 16. We are looking for interested adults for a paid Supervision position that is necessary to keep the Teen Center open. If interested, please call the Parks and Recreation Director at (734) 671-1466 or City Hall.

The Teen Center is also available to rent for parties and special occasions.

Miss Gibraltar 2010 The Gibraltar Rotary Club has Miss Gibraltar 2010 applications available at Contest: City Hall and the Community Center for young women between the ages of 15 and 20. The young women must be Gibraltar residents and must submit an essay entitled “Why I Like Living in Gibraltar”. The last day to submit an application is Friday, May 21, 2010. Applications can be turned in at City Hall, the Community Center, or can be mailed to -
