Fire Department The Gibraltar Fire Department services an area of 4 square miles with a population of 4200+ . The department consists of 31 Firefighters, 20 of whom have medical training and paid on a per call basis. Volunteer firefighters are held to the same high standards as full time firefighters. Within two years on joining our department, each individual must attend a state approved firefighter 1 & 2 course. The department pays for all training but the individual is not paid for his time in the course. As of February 1, 2005, we have 23 state certified firefighters.
The Gibraltar Fire Department is allowed by city council to have 40 members. Fire fighters are always wanted and appreciated, please contact City Hall if interested. City Hall:(734) 676-3900
